Using CineSync player from Ftrack

Summary

You can use the standalone CineSync player to review media published on Ftrack

Setup

  • Download and install the player from https://www.cinesync.online/downloads

  • Open the player and go to Integrations/Ftrack Studio/Preferences

    • Specify the correct ftrack URL

    • Sign in (will let you sign in via a separate browser session

    • Use the below settings

Play media

Select any render with a video reviewable in ftrack and use Play with/cineSync Play to download and play the video in the local player instance. It will starty cinesync player when it is not running.

Features

Playlist/Client review

  • Use Integrations/Ftrack Studio/Application UI to browse to an existing list or client review

  • Select the review to add to the current session. This will download all reviewables in the player

  • Select all shots in the play list in the side panel (S) and right click ‘Create Sequence’

  • Double click the newly created sequence in the playlist window to load the sequence in the player

(Audio) scrubbing

Audio scrubbing only works during play, see also playback control below

Compare versions

  • Add 2 versions to the player

  • Enable Compare (View/Enable Compare)

  • Select how to compare (horizontal/vertical/overlay/…) (View/Compare)

Show/Add Notes:

  • Use the note icon to Show all existing notes and add new ones. These notes will be automatically synchronized with Ftrack.

Annotate frames

Inside the player, there are several tools available to annotate frames. To export these annotations, you can do ftrack Studio/Application UI/Export

Not possible unless you have a cinesync license
