What’s ftrack ?
In a few words, ftrack is a powerful online software that will help you with the planning and scheduling, team management, production tracking & shot management and interactive media reviewing for your project.

Navigating ftrack
Ftrack has two useful views:
The Project view
The My Tasks view
The Project view
The Project view can be accessed by clicking on Projects on the top left and then selecting the project. Ftrack will then show you the complete hierarchy in a way that matches the files on the server.
You can easily navigate this view by expanding and clicking on the folders in the menu on the left. The center view will then show you the child objects (and finally, tasks) of the selected folder.
Use filters to easily find assets/shots that you’re looking for and get an overview!
The My Tasks view
The My Tasks view can be accessed by clicking on My Tasks on the top left. Ftrack will then show you all tasks assigned to you across projects and organized in a Kanban board.
You can further filter the tasks assigned to you by project or sort them by Priority, Due Date, etc.
To actually start working on your tasks and launch actions, you will have to launch ftrack connect and log in.
You can launch programs from ftrack connect itself, but it is easier to use the web interface, since you have a nice overview of your tasks there. Best practice as an artist is to use the My Tasks page that will only show tasks that are assigned to you.
